Welcome to the introductory post of ROTA Chain!
ROTA is an emergent L1 (Layer-1) blockchain that is changing the landscape of the Web3 space. Since we are an independent blockchain built from the ground up with the latest and greatest blockchain technology advancements, we have no dependency on other blockchains.
ROTA brings many improvements in functionality, speed, privacy, security, and stability. Still, perhaps the most important innovation brought by ROTA is that we are the first blockchain to successfully combine EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machines) and WASM (WebAssembly) onto one chain.
EVM has long been the standard programming base for smart contracts and dApps (decentralized applications), using the proprietary Solidity language, which draws inspiration from C++, Python, and JavaScript. Still, it requires significant time to learn and is not interoperable with other programming languages or applications, nor does it enjoy the wealth of documentation, support, community, and adoption as other languages such as JavaScript, Java, Python, PHP, C# and .NET, C++, C, Typescript, Ruby, Swing, R, Scala, Go, Kotlin, Rust, Lua, Dart, COBOL, Perl…and the list goes on.
WASM supports the above languages for easy development and interoperability across browsers and devices and is widely used amongst both Web2 and Web3 developers. By combining EVM and WASM onto a single chain, ROTA eliminates the barrier between Web2 and Web3 developers, opening up blockchain and dApp development to the wider developer community. For the first time, traditional developers can now build on-chain dApps without needing to learn a new language or leave their familiar programming environment. ROTA is the development playground bridging Web2 and Web3.
In addition to the above, ROTA introduces many more functional improvements and development tools that have not previously been implemented and widely adopted on the blockchain. This includes (but is not limited to) MACs (Multi-Address Contracts), MFTs (Multi-Functional Tokens), Relational Contracts, Smart Contract Synchronization, and ZK-Snark transaction privacy options. These advances open up such possibilities as NFTfi, wherein NFTs can store their metadata on-chain and be connected by smart contract to other assets. For example, imagine you play the latest and greatest GameFi game on ROTA, which allows you to import your PFP (profile picture) NFT from another project to use as your avatar and in-game character. This is not only exciting for the player but also financially rewarding, as the value of the character NFT and the PFP NFT increase because of this zero-trust connection. Ever bought a PFP NFT from a project that flopped or rug-pulled? Now you can recover the value by importing it into any game or dApp on ROTA.
Our ZK-Snark implementation, called Blinder, gives users full control of their privacy, as they can now optionally hide the to address, from address, and/or transaction value. This means no more trade-offs between trustless decentralized finance and privacy.
The security and stability of ROTA are second to none due to our implementation of PBFT (Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance) and RPOS (ROTA Proof of Stake) consensus mechanisms, the most mature and battle-tested consensus mechanisms available, with higher efficiency and low gas fees than other blockchains. Furthermore, only full nodes can run programs on ROTA.
Currently, ROTA operates at 10,000+ TPS (Transactions Per Second) and boasts a record-setting finalization time of 3 seconds, making it one of the fastest chains on the market. Further, we have the safest cross-chain bridge, linking to the Ethereum, Solana, BSC, and Polygon networks for fast and simple swapping.
